This year's CRC 1502 Retreat took place on 15-16 May 2024 in Bad Breisig, where all 90 employees, members of the community and the Scientific Advisory Board met to discuss the state of the art, central hypothesis and the roadmap for DETECT's 2nd phase application.
The need for dialogue at such events is immense, as only at these annual retreats the entire group meets to exchange ideas in person across all disciplines, projects and clusters. The programme was correspondingly extensive and the nights short. At the constitutional meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board following the retreat event, the Management Team and Executive Board benefited from the external perspective of the newly formed committee and gratefully took their feedback and suggestions on board. The task now is to integrate the lessons learnt from the Retreat into the ongoing project work and further strategic planning, prepare application phase 2 and to further promote and strengthen DETECT'S cross-cluster collaboration.
