Titel:
"Mapping the spatial distribution of crops in the EU for three decades with a novel probabilistic approach"
Description:
Author: Josef Baumert
Agricultural land use directly affects water, soil, and biodiversity. To understand and model these impacts, we need detailed maps showing what crops are grown where and when. However, current European crop maps often lack the necessary detail or coverage. We develop a new mapping approach that combines crop choice observations, environmental and administrative data. We apply it to estimate crop types across the EU-28 at 1 km resolution for three decades. Our method also quantifies uncertainty, showing where and when estimates are less precise.
