CRC Lecture Series - Visualization and analysis of spatial data

I will present two lectures on the visualization and analysis of spatial data. The first lecture, from 13:00-14:20, will give an overview of the most fundamental concepts of cartography, which are relevant for anyone generating maps out of geospatial data. The second lecture, from 14:30-16:00, will provide deep insights into recent and on-going research on algorithmic geodata analytics. In particular, I will present approaches to clustering, aggregating and simplifying geospatial data, which are needed to generate maps of multiple different levels of detail and to provide object representations for geospatial analyses at different scales.
