Description

Speaker: Phillip Papastefanou

Projected increases in drought frequency and intensity pose a severe threat to global forests. Current vegetation models often fall short in capturing the underlying physiological mechanisms driving plant responses and mortality during drought. This presentation demonstrates how plant hydraulics can be integrated into vegetation modeling. Using our approach, we show how physiological patterns can be improved, but also discuss the new challenges of parameter constraint.
