CRC Lecture Series - Forests, forest management and forest policy

This lecture will focus on human – forest interactions, broadly looking into how society is relating to forests and what challenges occur in this relationship. Starting from the forest transition idea, I will introduce different “frontiers” relating to forests and people, including deforestation and restoration, biodiversity conservation, climate change, and urbanization. One specific focus will be put on forests and forest policy in Europe – introducing social science data from various research projects.
